The SSCP Pressure Band is made up of silicone and when wrapped around your finger, it will provide a firm yet gentle splint for your finger. It has benefits such as:
- SSCP Pressure Arthritis Band is soft and therefore will allow some movement of your finger even when it is splinted – your fingers will be able to move but is still protected by the splinting action of the pressure band. This allows you to perform functional movements with ease.
- The SSCP Pressure Band is self-adhesive and will not fall of easily.

Below are some useful tips
- Wash and dry hands before use
- Measure the length of the SSCP Pressure Band that is needed.
- Apply the adhesive side of the SSCP Pressure Band around the finger until it covers the finger completely.
- Clean the SSCP Pressure Band with hand soap or just water if it gets dirty. After cleaning, you can either drip dry or use a non-woven cloth to dry it.
- When the SSCP Pressure Band’s adhesive begins to wear off, it should be replaced.

SSCP stands for “Smart Scar Care Pad”, a newly invented material invented by Professor Cecilia Li from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. SSCP is mainly used for the control of hypertrophic scars and Keloids but also has other functions such as reduction of swelling.
SSCP consists of a layer of specially designed silicone rubber and a layer of specially formulated medical grade silicone gel. It can come in sheets or strips or in the form of a band.
The SSCP Pressure Band works using the principles of pressure therapy and silicone therapy. It evenly distributes pressure while reducing scar tension and preventing water loss. It is therefore confortable, durable and comfortable to use as well as being low in allergy risk.
You should be able to notice a reduction in swelling after wearing the SSCP Pressure Band for 5 to 7 days. .
