Invented by an occupational therapist, the goal is to create comfortable, functional, and stylish shoes allowing anyone to put on and take off easily.
AFO Friendly
Orthoses & braces create footwear challenges. Whether it’s getting the shoes on or accommodating the foot while it’s in the shoe, selecting the appropriate shoes for AFOs can be close to impossible.
Our versatile styles graciously provide appropriate depth and width to accommodate AFOs and feature slip-resistant outsoles for additional stability along with removable dual-density memory foam insoles to easily replace with custom orthotics.

Children with cerebral palsy who wear AFOs and braces will find wearing them a breeze as the easy access zippers allow them to slide their AFOs in easily and without difficulty. Our back access shoes also have a tab that can be pulled easily to secure the AFOs within the shoe.
Due the side and back access zippers, many children will find that they will be able to put their shoes on independently.

A $30 charge will apply for Home Fitting Service. However, this charge is waived with purchase of 2 or more shoes during home fitting.

There is a size guide tab on all Friendly Shoes product descriptions – you can use this to help you to decide which size to buy. We can exchange items that are the incorrect size as long as they are still in saleable condition with all packaging and labels.
We do offer Home Fitting Service if you have trouble deciding which size to choose.
